🧑💻 Prompt Engineering Building Blocks
💡 Creating prompts comes down to being very clear on what you are trying to achieve with the prompt.
When crafting prompts, clarity is key. The clearer and more specific you are, the better the AI can understand what you’re actually asking for.
Instead of saying → "Write about renewable energy,"
Try → "Write a 300-word blog post on the benefits of renewable energy for urban environments."
Below are different building blocks to include when crafting prompts. Try experimenting with these to get better outputs. You should not use all of these for every prompt obviously, but you should see these more like a check-list that you can use to get more specific when needed.
The Building Blocks ⭐️
Task → "Write a blog post about the benefits of remote work."
Context → "Considering the shift to remote work during the pandemic."
Exemplars → "Similar to articles published in Fast Company."
Persona → "As a business consultant advising small businesses."
Format → "In a bullet-point list."
Tone → "Professional yet conversational."
Constraints → "Keep the post under 400 words."
Output Style → "Informative with a focus on practical advice."
Audience → "Targeted at small business owners."
Purpose → "To persuade them to adopt remote work policies."
Timeframe → "Highlighting changes in the last two years."
Emotion → "Evoke a sense of empowerment and opportunity."
Keywords → "Include phrases like 'flexibility,' 'productivity,' and 'cost savings.'"
